‘Endangered Tiger’
Phantom FGR.2 XV404 awaits it’s fate at RAF Wattisham, Suffolk. Painted in this stunning Tiger scheme by 74 Sqn for Tigermeet ‘92 to mark the type’s retirement from service, any hopes of preservation ended when it was dismantled for scrap during April 1993. This painting was produced by referring to various photographs taken at the time, and a scale model was constructed and photographed to get the desired viewing angle, shadows and perspective.

Frame external measurements are 62cm wide and 47cm high approximately
